I wasn't naive to think when I woke this morning there would be a clear winner of presidential race, and I wasn't disappointed. I really would have been disappointed to find out that Trump somehow got re-elected. I'm not a fan. Never have been - except when he fired Meatloaf - that was kind of funny. His presidency has been anything but funny.
What I did wake up to find is I'm a father of a newly-minted teenager, and she's in full teen mode. Which, at times, breaks my heart. It's not easy watching my loving child - who thought everything I said was hilarious for so many years, now rolls her eyes. Or worse - just stares out the passenger side window as we ride together to school. It's painful. But - I'll get over it. Maybe.
The good thing about today: it was warm! Warm enough for me to put back on my shorts - but I didn't. It's supposed to remain warm throughout the weekend, and I'm fine with that. I need to do things like bring in the garden hoses along with deck furniture. I'll also fire up the grill (did I mention my teenager considers herself a vegetarian? Oh but wait - as long as she can still have bacon - and chicken nuggets - yeah) and make something yummy.
Fingers crossed that Biden wins. I'm not of the opinion that Biden is the answer to all our problems - but it's a start. I'll sleep better - and have more energy to deal with my new brilliant teenager...
